Nomads,
My host and playing partner, the captain of Maritzburg golf club, Alan Grant proudly spoke of all the good things being done at their club; Especially the new irrigation system
Installation in 2010, as well as a housing project along the eighth which will bring in some additional revenue. They will celebrate their 125 Th Anniversary next year so we look forward to being a part of that. Our 4 ball was completed by Dave Brandsma and Simon Taylor. Thanks gents for a great day out on the course.
I had the pleasure of inducting Dave Brandsma alongside Ryan Hilary, Gary Durant, and Dean Harding that evening. Gentlemen welcome to nomads.
Other awards on the night were a 35 year tie to Pinky Gooderson. What a great innings so far. Also 15 year ties to Wayne Campbell and Alan Michel and a 5 year tie to Malcolm King.
Congratulations to all the divisional winners on the day; Dave Strong (A Division 40 points), Dean Harding (B Division 38 points) and Eric Morsner (C Division 35 points). Also well done to Willie stokes for a great 40 pointer, unfortunately only a 2nd Place OCO for all that effort.
Waiting list members on the day were Dieter Kriese, Greg Graham and Frans Higgins with Alan Wright and Graham Biffin joining us for the first time. Also from up the road at Southern natal were Dave Stevens, Peter Powell and Chris Brooks. We hope you all had a great day.
Gents at the fines session at Maritzburg some members got a little carried away and rowdy which is not in the spirit that is expected. Please give our fines masters the respect they deserve and keep the banter down so they can get through their lot with minimal Disturbance.
At our next game which is at Amamzintoti, we will play the opening round of the Gary Player Knockout as well as the OMIPSA, so good luck to all of you that have entered.
In addition to the usual awards and inductions we will also have the OMIPSA winners and prizes so we expect a longer prize session so I urge you all to help us in getting prize giving off on time at 18.30.
Your fines master on the evening will be Wayne Campbell.
Alan Lukan
