Stats for the day were as follows:
Course Rating and Par – 70
Average Score – 28
Standard Adjustment 28 – 32
Cut Shots – 12 players
No Change – 49 players
Gaining shots – 61 players
Scoring average was down when compared to the Mt Edgecombe game where the average was 29. This was due to the set-up of the course at Kloof, with some way back tees and severe pin positions.
New system to be introduced:
We now have the swipe card system working and the trial run will go ahead at the Gold Cup Game at DCC. Remember to bring along your SAGA – Handicap Network Cards, which Helen will swipe at the registration caravan. Your round will then be opened and you will then have to enter your score within the 72 hour period to avoid receiving a penalty. This will help with the policing of score entry.
Scoring changes implemented from 1 November 2011.
1. Up to now if you did not enter your score within the 72 hour period you were given a flat round. The new late entry penalty will be equal to the lowest differential score of your last 20 rounds, added to the standard rating of the course with the late entry.
2. Section 9.2.2 – whereby a players’ handicap is immediately recalculated if he shoots a net score of 3 under par or less, will be removed. The exceptional round calculation will now be used if a player enters two or more exceptional scores, then the best 8 scores of the last 20 will be used to compute the players’ handicap.
