Nomads,

My playing partner for the day was Norman Petzer, the chairman of Toti golf club standing in for Tommy McNaughton, who was a late pull out for last months game.
Norman is a fit 83 year old who had played the day before in the Toti Wednesday competition and then got the call to substitute for Tommy, so he probably didn’t need this in his life. He was a great sport and carried himself well throughout the day, never once mentioning the extreme heat that we played in, long sleeve shirt and all. I am sure that we all want to be swinging at that age. Our 4 ball was completed by my Gary Player partner Des Cormack and Bob Catlin.

Our next monthly game is at Cato Ridge and Bob Catlin assures me that they are fully prepared for us and have the prize giving hall and bar sorted, so nomads please make every effort to be there and also stay for prize giving as they really deserve our support.

Congratulations to all the divisional winners on the day; (A Division Ryan Hilary 41 points), (B Division Krish Narsiah 39 points) and (C Division Des Rode 39 points).

Natal nomads qualified for three spots in The Old Mutual pairs 2 nd round by virtue of the numbers that entered so thanks to all of you for your commitment to this event. The three winning pairs are Butch Armitage and Des Rode, Alan Hilary and Ryan Hilary, Stan Carruthers and Gary Gould. Well done gents and good luck with your future events.
To those nomads who still need to play their Gary player please get these done before the deadline of 6th April.

We inducted two new nomads in Shaun Ribbink as a full member, as well as John Dickson as a sponsor member. John is from John Dickson golf and does Professional instruction from Durban CC full time. It is going to be great having a Pro in our ranks and I’m sure he’ll be getting regular calls from nomads in need as they get to know him.

I had the pleasure of presenting Guy Armstrong his 100 game badge and also ties to the following nomads; Mickey Duncan and Derryck Willans for 15 years and Geoff Bell and Udo Goedeke for 5 years.

Waiting list members on the day were Greg Graham and David Buxton.
We were also joined by Paul Adams from Old Mutual pairs and also as a visiting nomad from Gauteng as well as Graham Biffin. We welcome both of you and hope that you enjoyed your day with us.

Well the big money has gone. Well done the Blackie and his mates for winning the jackpot with their longstanding perm. Enjoy!

In the last bell sheet report I did warn of a lengthy prize giving and this was in fact the case.
Unfortunately this did not go unnoticed and we are under pressure to get prize giving started at 18h15 Sharp. May I appeal to all of you to get showered and ready for the call to prize giving as quickly as possible?

Your fines master on the evening will be Bob Catlin.

Alan Lukan
